The WICS+ and SWEnext clubs are hosting a field trip to the Oden Institute on Friday March 27th.

  • 9:15am  LEAVE LASA
    • meet at 9:10am (25 minutes before 1st period class ends) by the door bus riders use to enter the school (bus leaves promptly at 9:15am)
    • No need to take your backpack. You can leave it in the little room next to Room 506 (I will put a post-it note on the door that says 506B).
    • Your teacher can check the school’s Field Trip Tracker spreadsheet to see the names of all the students going on the field trip
  • 9:40am  arrive at UT
  • 9:45am  research presentations on video wall
  • 11:00am soccer playing robots/AI presentation
  • 11:45am lunch with graduate students doing research at the Oden Institute
  • 12:30pm depart UT
  • 1:00pm arrive back at LASA (end of lunch)

Field Trip Sign-Up (check with your teachers whose classes you are missing if it is OK for you to go)

The Oden Institute advances the field of computational science and engineering and its application to address the grand challenge problems facing society.  We will get a tour of the Visualization Lab to learn about some of the Institute’s research and then have lunch in smaller groups to talk with graduate students, postdocs, and faculty (the Oden Institute is providing a lunch for everyone).  If you have questions please contact Mr. Mueller or Mr. Shockey.

We are able to take no more than 44 students.
